Six countries join Russia in opposing UN’s resolution for peace in Ukraine

On Thursday, 141 countries voted in favor of a United Nations General Assembly resolution calling for an end to hostilities in Ukraine and for Russia to withdraw its forces. However, Belarus, North Korea, Syria, Eritrea, Mali, and Nicaragua sided with Russia in opposing the declaration. Although the resolution does not compel Russia to leave Ukraine, it does represent a global condemnation of Moscow’s aggression.
